Waterfront Training Solutions (WTS) is proud to announce it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 — a rigorous Department of War cybersecurity standard, and one that very few companies WTS’s size have reached. The certification formalizes the same compliance program WTS has spent the past year building and living inside of every day.
Built From the Inside Out
Jacqueline B. Chrabot, WTS Director of Operations, took on the additional responsibilities of Director of IT & Cybersecurity and Acting Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), leading WTS’s CMMC Level 2 journey alongside fewer than a handful of WTS employees. Unlike many organizations that rely on outside consultants to manage the certification process end to end, WTS built and managed the effort internally.
Chrabot built WTS’s IT infrastructure from the ground up and led the company through the preparation, implementation, documentation, and assessment required to achieve CMMC Level 2 certification.
It’s a milestone the WTS team earned the same way they’ve built the rest of the company: hands-on, internally, and from the ground up.
What It Means Going Forward
WTS is a Cyber AB Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO) and an ISACA Accredited Training Partner, delivering IT certification training alongside its staffing and managed IT services for the defense and government community. Having gone through the CMMC Level 2 process themselves, WTS is now positioned to help other small defense contractors navigate the same path through its IT managed services offering, turning a hard-won internal milestone into a service other veteran- and small-owned businesses in the defense industrial base can lean on.
